In continuation of its protest RHS by volunteers of UFESM at Jantar Mantar entered its thirty fifth day today. With simultaneous hunger strikes being undertaken from across the country. Today volunteers had come from Poonch & Jammu J&K leaving behind terror stricken families due to the situation on the LOC. A 35 member delegation too came from Chandigarh under Brigadier Khosa. Sitting on the RHS were a total of 75 volunteers with 13 officers.
A large contingent from the Sikh Regiment was representative of the increasing participation.
The generous contribution to the cause both in cash and kind, e.g. supply of breakfast and drinking water and the steady stream of volunteers on a daily basis continues to ensure that the protest is here for a very long time indeed. Notwithstanding appreciations being made by certain agencies hovering around the area of protest as also

failed efforts by a certain section of

individuals to somehow get this called off

including illegally and in connivance of

lowly placed officials of sealing the only

operative bank account for management

of funds.

In furtherance of the decision taken by the "Advisory Committee" of UFESM, as also announced at the press conference of 14 Jul the extended deadline to the Government ends on 22 Jul. In view of which the next step towards escalation will commence on 23 Jul. The details of the same will be communicated before that.

A Kargil Vijay Diwas Run for OROP is being planned to be undertaken on 26 Jul, with Blade Runner Maj DP Singh, in the lead and the event to be graced by Hav Anna Hazare. Details of the event will be communicated by all means for greater participation by society to show solidarity with the veterans.

OROP : ‘MANN KI BAATH’ OF SERVICEMEN AND VETERANS B

               ‘MANN KI BAATH’
                               OF
       SERVICEMEN  AND VETERANS
                              By

                     PG  Kamath

I think it was FDR who started  his ‘Fireside Chats’ to the American people during the  Great War.  It was his way of  connecting with people.

Our  Prime Minister also connects with the people through his
‘Mann ki Baath’.

It is an excellent way to keep the  nation  informed
of his musings.

In the recent  Broadcast he dwelt on OROP (One Rank
One Pension) and he  said his Government is  committed in implementing it , however it is complicated and
he was not aware  of its complexity before becoming the Prime
Minister.

It  also imputes that he was not aware of its
complexity even after becoming the Prime Minister when he  addressed the  soldiers in Siachen,  last Diwali.

Mr Prime Minister! Remember that  a simple issue can be made complicated, confusing and  complex by your  bureaucrats, whose shenanigans to manipulate politicians is  an axiom;  notwithstanding he could be PMModi, himself?  It suffice to say that the PM has been led  down the garden path.  The Ministry could  give an inflated figure and the CGDA in cahoots with the Ministry could further  inflate the figure so that the PM is overwhelmed.

Second they would say the myriad of   Cental Police  Organsations [CPOs]   &  [NOT Para Military] organisations would demand and the PM would be in intractable situation, from where he would not be able wriggle out of the self-created imbroglio?

Thirdly they would say outright lies telling that the Armed Forces are better paid that anyone else in the country invoking rations, Canteen services, ECHS, Special Forces Allowance and High Altitude Allowance,to disallow OROP.

Lastly they would get the IB to give false reports
that the  CPOs [ Please don't read Para Military] Forces would be demoralised?  I hope the country remembers as to how PM Vajpayee was made to buckle to the Terrorists in Kandahar Hijacking. He was made to believe that the
entire countrymen were with hostages and not with the nation.  PM Vajpayee’s portrayed the country as a soft state and lost his stature.

Coming back to OROP; It would be indeed difficult for an half informed politicians to question these arguments as the bureaucrats prevaricate.  They do not give the whole picture.
They pit the disadvantages of Plan A with advantages of Plan B.  They show respect bordering on servility that makes the politician believe that the man is sincere, loyal and honest.  To show that they are not one sided they would throw a flimsy  argument in between to support Plan A so that the argument is worthy of outright rejection.  Mr PM,  if you are not careful you can be trodden over and bureaucrats will claim victory
over you in their private confabulations with their breed.  They would tell bureaucrats of other ministries,  the trade secret to overwhelm you.

They would boost your ego, appear servile and loyal and make you lose your innate sagacity and your earthly wisdom and make you think like them as they have done it with you on OROP.

Few facts that you need to know: it was the triumvirate of UPA Chairman , the then PM and the then RM who are basically responsible for destroying morale of the Armed Forces thus posing a grave danger to the nation.  It was the time the CRPF otherwise a greenhorn in Counter Insurgency Warfare was
getting massacred by Maoists in 2009/12 and the then Home Minister Chidambaram in order to boost their morale was heaping them with allowances far in excess to the Armed Forces.  Mr PM just go through a slew of allowances which the PMF under the Home Ministry is getting .

It is not double or treble of those received by Armed Forces.  Just close your eyes and keep your mouth gaping;  it is ten times more?

An armed forces instructor in NDC gets ₹ 1800 per month
and equivalents in police and civil service get ₹ 19000 per month.

I am just giving one example but Mr Prime Minister; please ask for all the allowances that others get that is not given to armed Forces. Just to give you one more example; Indian Army Paratrooper gets ₹ 800 to 1200 per month; whereas parachute trained police COBRA battalion personnel get
₹ 7200 to 11000 per month.

The grant of enhanced allowance in isolation to PMF and the possible adverse effect on the morale of the Armed Forces was not considered by your bureaucrats then? Wasn’t it simple enough? It was simple to deprive the armed forces the comparative increases and how easily they flagrantly disregarded the adverse effect on their morale? It was
simply done and the issue was not complex then? Complexity has risen only for OROP?

Next Mr PM we take the Sixth Pay Commission, where  rank
discrimination was practised and perfected on the Armed Forces.

Non Functional Up-gradation (NFU) has been given to all;  I repeat all Central Government Officers of all hues:  Bureaucrats, Border Roads, MES, Postal Service, all  CPOS , IAS, IPS, Defence Accounts, Defence Estate and a host of allied services working in the Central Government.  A single organisation that is

‘The Armed Forces of Indian Union’ alone have been excluded.  Mr PM can you believe it?
Has none of your servile bureaucrats have  told how easily this was done without any complexities? How were the Armed Forcesdiscriminated?

The Armed Forces are being deprived of NFU for the past 10 years. Thousands of servicemen in the past decade have gone on retirement at a lower grade and corresponding lower pay and pension? How simply it was done? Were there no complications then? Mr PM how was the Anomaly
Commission under Cabinet Secretary tasked  by the then PM on 18 Jul 2012 to give its recommendation before 8 Aug 2012 so that he could announce from the ramparts of Red Fort was scuttled. There were 39 anomalies given by the Armed Forces where the Sixth Pay Commission had discriminated them.

The  Armed Forces are still languishing with these unresolved
anomalies and suffer the ignominy of being discriminated by its own government.  How simply this was done? Why did not any IB give a report of the anger in the Armed Forces for this gross
injustice?Lastly; Mr PM have they not told you maximum ranks in Armed Forces retire at the age of 35to37 years, thus tearing them asunder from their organisation at the prime of their adulthood.  In contrast all the Para Military Organisation and bureaucrats and even a peon who stands outside your office retires at 60 years? Who will compensate for it.  All civilian counterparts serve for 35 to 40 years, and
retire correspondingly on higher pay and pension.  You throw a soldier out on the streets after 17 years of service at the age of 35 to 37, when his family and social needs are maximum.  He has to eke out his livelihood for next 35 to 40 years of life in educating and settling his children, besides looking after his wife and himself in old age.

All that the soldiers are asking you to grant them OROP to partly alleviate their financial distress for the most peculiar condition of service that is applicable to the Armed Forces alone.

I can understand UPA not doing it as the triumvirate who ran the country were indeed odd? We had the UPA Chairman from whom the Armed Forces could not expect much as her provenance being what it is, national security was not her priority? You need to excuse her as she was busy anointing her son and financially rejuvenating her  SON-IN-LAW .  With such onerous tasks at hand it was difficult for her concentrate on other flimsy issues such as the Security of the nation.

Next, we have is the then Prime Minister,  the prize exhibit of Madame Tussauds,  who could walk by itself but nothing else.

The third was the then RM, the arch destroyer of Armed Forces of Indian Union.

[ UNDER MR CLEAN INDIAN ARMED FORCES ARE  EVEN  BEREFT OF  LATHIS - Vasundhra]

He being at the helm for  eight years was one of the greatest asset to our adversaries.  Even PM Nawaz Sherif and President Ji Xi could not have done a better job had they been the RM of India.  He carved out the hollowness in the Armed  Forces and destroyed its fighting capacity.  I don’t intend to talk of our depleted Air Force and the Navy on life  support system.  He also destroyed the  morale of the Armed Forces by not speaking a word in support  of the Armed  Forces, when its outright discrimination was being perpetuated by his government.  The electorate rightly threw  him out and
currently the  Armed Forces do not even have an  assault rifle the prime and basic weapon of an infantry soldier.
I also  understand none of them  were leaders but quirk of
circumstances had catapulted them  to be the arbitrators of this
nation to her grave misfortune.   What  is the most unfortunate is, even the  NDA leadership has also succumbed to the mechanisation of vested interest.

Even the great Modi’s baritone speeches  ring hollow among the servicemen and veterans.

We hear his ‘Maan ki Baath’ but does he hear the ‘Mann  ki Baath’ of 21  lakhs veterans and 13 lakh servicemen on active service?

NUCLEAR :India To Build A ‘Strategic Uranium Reserve’

India To Build A ‘Strategic Uranium Reserve’

After a record production this year, India is working on creating a 'strategic uranium reserve' to ensure its atomic power reactors do not face shortage of the crucial nuclear fuel.
"The reserve pool could be anywhere between 5000 MT to 15,000 MT which can last for 5-10 years," said a senior government official. A proposal for stocking 5000 MT of uranium has been sent to the Cabinet for approval but the cap is likely to increase in the coming years.

Over the past one year, India has been pursuing its case to buy uranium from different countries including Australia and Canada. It is also procuring uranium from Russia for its indigenous reactors. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kazakhstan last week, India renewed a contract with the Central Asian country to procure 5000 MT of uranium.

© pti Over the past one year, India has been pursuing its case to buy uranium from different countries including Australia and Canada.

After Hyderabad another Nuclear Fuel Complex is coming up in Kota in Rajasthan, sources said.

"For all these years, we could not think of having a reserve like other countries have due to the impending sanctions. But now we can think of working to build a reserve of nuclear fuel.
"We are mostly depending on the uranium from Australia. Once we start getting it, we can start building the reserve. Uranium from Kazakhstan will largely meet the current demand. It is a rare commodity, so one should keep piling it whenever it is available at a cheaper rate in the international market," the official added.

Under the Indo-US nuclear deal, the latter is to support India’s initiative for having a nuclear pool. "The United States will support an Indian effort to develop a strategic reserve of nuclear fuel to guard against any disruption of supply over the lifetime of India's reactors," the agreement states.

Indian reactors had been "under-performing" as they did not get enough fuel from the outside world prior to the historic Indo-US nuclear cooperation agreement due to sanctions. However, since its inception, India has started importing uranium from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and France.
In a major milestone, India this year registered a record production of over 1,252 MT of uranium, manufacturing close to double the annual fuel requirement of atomic reactors in the country. The production has far exceeded the country's annual fuel requirement of 650 MT for the Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs), which means the country has surplus nuclear fuel that will last several months.

Every 700 MW of reactor needs 125 MT of uranium every year. However, with the rising number of power reactors in the country, the demand is expected to rise. In the near future, two nuclear reactors of 700 MW each in Rajasthan Atomic Power Station (RAPS) and Kakrapar Atomic Power Station (KAPS) are coming up. Four atomic reactors of 700 MW each are also coming up at the Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojana (GHAVP).

Fuel for Kudankulam plant in Tamil Nadu and Jaitapur in Maharashtra, coming up in collaboration with Russia and France respectively, will be made available by the foreign players.

ANTI TERROR : Architects of “Hindu Terror” Are Nervous

            Architects of “HinduTerror” Are Nervous

                                       By

                               RSN SINGH

Lt Col Shrikant Purohit

It is now more than six years since Lt Col Srikant Purohit and Sadhvi Pragya have been incarcerated in prison without charge sheet. The previous dispensation, motivated solely by vote-bank politics, labeled them as Hindu terrorists, in its sinister bid to balance Jihadi terror by inventing Hindu terror. There was also the evil design to balance Pakistani terror with Indian terror for benefit of Pakistan.

Human rights activists therefore remain unmoved.

Finally the Supreme Court of India has swung into action and has questioned the very basis of continued detention of Purohit and Pragya under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), as they had no criminal record. The court also observed that there was “considerable doubt” about their involvement in Malegaon blasts. It directed that their bail plea should be examined by a special trial court.

In the Court of Inquiry conducted by the Army some 50 witnesses, officers and men gave their testimony in favour of Purohit. Some of them hailed him as a dedicated professional who had infiltrated into Jihadi organisations like SIMI and Indian Mujahideen, with full knowledge and concurrence of his seniors.

These legal developments have sent shivers in the ‘Hindu Terror’ fabrication industry. The members of this industry have ganged up to fight their last desperate battle.

Media Offensive

The public prosecutor Rohini Salian appointed by the previous Maharashtra dispensation to prosecute so called “Hindu terrorists” allegedly involved in Malegaon blasts in 2008, decided to go public with a statement that she was being pressurized by an NIA (National Investigative Agency) official to “go soft on Hindu Terrorists”. Only the guilty and the weak succumb to pressure!

In an interview to a newspaper, she said that she took up the case at “Hemant Karkare’s insistence”. She further said “his (Karkare) voice was shaking and he sounded very disturbed…. Then I heard accused were all Hindus and I was surprised…..From morning to evening I read newspapers. I started crying and got emotionally upset. In that matter I also got to know about Samjhauta and Modasa. Long after his death we were very upset. Then one day I went to ATS and shouted at the police—what are we doing –we have to make the soul happy.”

This interview was given to a media outlet which was at the forefront of Hindu Terror campaign. As it was being fed stories by the crooks in the government, desperate to fabricate Hindu terror, it was masqueraded as investigative journalism. The story telling was however of a very poor quality.

The contradictions on two consecutive editions were hilarious. If one day the report said that Lt Col Purohit pilfered RDX from Indian Army for Samjhauta blasts, the very next day it had to eat crow in face of the clarification that the Indian Army does not use RDX.

Since the interview, the Indian media has been on overdrive to project Rohini Salian as some great crusader. One of the media feature “The Lawyer Who Leaves Womanhood Behind” tried to portray a larger than life image of her. Then former cop Julio Rieberio was roped in to write “Why we must listen to Rohini Salian”. Then there was a newspaper report that said after the revelation of the NIA pressure theory “six clerics, three advocates, a father of 2008 blast victim and brother of one of the accused in 2006 Malegaon blast case took the first long distance train to meet Rohini”. The bias of Salian and the media in general is evident. She has been speaking and behaving more like a judge than a prosecutor. Her bitterness or frustration at the unraveling of “Hindu Terror” theory can be sampled from this statement: “In future, if in any other case the NIA makes fresh arrest, then I would go on record that I would like to take up the case of the accused as an independent.”

Selective Sensitivity

It may be mentioned that Rohini Salian was engaged as public prosecutor after the blasts in Malegaon in end September 2008. These blasts were effected just two months before 26/11. This incident was used by the government to create the specter of Hindu Terror.

The ruling dispensation, but for apprehension of Ajmal Kasab, had almost succeeded in facilitating the portrayal of 26/11 as act of so called Hindu terrorists.

The setback however did not prevent Digvijay Singh from releasing a book called “26/11 RSS ki Sazish”. The same Digvijay proclaimed that he was in constant touch with ‘Karkare on matters regarding so called Hindu terror. Now it is same Karkare on whose insistence Rohini Salian claims to have relented to assume the mantle of Special Public Prosecutor. Karkare must have been really persuasive as she had resigned as Public Prosecutor in 2007. On hearing that the accused of 2008 Malegaon blasts were all Hindus she tells that she started crying. In the 2008 Malegaon blasts eight people were killed. By her sensitivity standards, Rohan Salian must have been really inconsolable between 2004 and 2008 as unremitting bomb blasts devoured innocents in Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Pune and Bangalore. She must have been devastated when two years before i.e in 2006, 37 were killed in the same Malegaon, wherein unlike 2008, RDX was used. Ironically the brother of one of the accused in 2006 blasts travelled all the way to meet Rohini after she began to vilify the current dispensation.

It is again a huge coincidence that all Hindu terror cases were confined to courts in Congress ruled states –Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Haryana.

Whose soul to be trusted?

It is significant that the “low intensity blasts” in Malegaon in 2008 was used by the plotters as the central plot to weave the story of Hindu terror. The idea being to sell the story that all blasts wherein Muslims were victims was act of Hindu terror. Accordingly, the blasts in Samjhauta Express, Mecca Masjid and Ajmer Sharif were revisited. Also on this revisit trip was Rohini Salian. In her interviews to various media outlets she says she got to know “about Samjhauta and Modasa as well” from newspapers. She particularly revisited 2006- Malegaon blasts.

Speaking on the 2006 Malegaon blasts, the DGP of Maharashtra in a press conference in November 2006 said: “We have successfully cracked Malegaon serial blasts case, and have arrested eight men, all of them former SIMI members. We are in lookout for eight others.” He pointedly mentioned: “Two Pakistanis were involved in the blast. One of them is Muzammil who came to India in third week of July and helped fashion the improvised explosive devices. One of the accused Mohd Ali sent Shabir Batterywalah, another accused, for training at a terrorist camp near Karachi. After 7/11 blasts in Mumbai – Ali supplied RDX to Batterywalah.”

Can it get more specific?

These investigations were also carried out by the Maharashtra ATS before Karkare took over. It filed charge sheets in MCOCA court (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) against nine accused. It is the same ATS where Rohini Salian claims to have visited after Karkare’s death and shouted at the police: “What we are doing, we have to make the soul happy”. It may be mentioned that the same MCOCA type act that the Gujarat government under Narendra Modi demanded in the past was constantly denied by the Centre then. Subsequently, in 2007, the Malegaon (2006) case was handed over to CBI whose findings were similar to that of ATS.

The Central Government did not give up. By then it had another agency to juggle with. It then handed over the case to NIA in 2011. The story of Malegaon (2006), being handiwork of Hindu terrorists, was re-invented.

The NIA is a post 26/11 creation.

The NIA of that period obviously suited Rohini Salian. The so called Hindu terrorists were conveniently blamed. Consequently, as expected and scripted there was a hue and cry from the vested quarters. They demanded that since the real perpetrators had been identified, the nine accused should be released, and indeed they were.

On release, like most accused, they said that they were implicated and signed their confessions under duress. One of them by the name of Abrar blamed his wife and brother-in-law for implicating him for a price of Rs 25 lakh.

Now which soul is to be believed — DGP Pasricha’s soul, the collective soul of the ATS (before Karkare) and the CBI and the NIA, or late Hemant Karkare’s soul or Rohini Salian’s soul? It is for the reader to decide.

Service to Pakistan

Meanwhile Rohini Salian is making waves in the Pakistani press. The Pakistan news carried the headlines “Prosecutor claims – was told to go soft on Hindu terrorists”. Also, now Pakistan has begun to equate Lakhvi, the mastermind of 26/11 with Lt Col Purohit. This is the balancing the architects of “Hindu Terror” wanted. The US Treasury Department blames the LeT for Samjhauta blasts. David Headley’s Moroccon wife said her husband was involved, but the previous dispensation, which Rohini Salian found convenient to work with, was steadfast in its claim that it was perpetrated by Hindu terrorists which included Lt Col Purohit.

Conclusion

Majority Indians have understood the game and the Hindu terror story is increasingly becoming untenable, legally and otherwise. It is therefore natural for the Hindu terror industry, so assiduously cultivated by the previous dispensation, to be nervous and to go on overdrive.
