O R O P : MOVE TO DERAIL THE OROP BY POLITICIZING THE ARMED FORCES

THE NATION WILL BE DOOMED         Anil Kaul June 17 at 12:36am     Dear Sir/ Madam, Some unconfirmed reports suggest that there is a possibility of the Government announcing the OROP implementation in the next couple of days. However with two glaring anomalies, viz.  (a) For OR's ONLY.  (b) That too with tinkering of the definition for everyone. This is a dangerous move to divide the rank structure of the Armed Forces with a mischevious intent to further demoralize them. It could have serious repurcussions in the serving ranks also. While there is no objection to a proposal for deferred payments with priority to widows, OR's,NCO's,JCO's & FINALLY Oficers, any dilution to the accepted definition for any rank is objectionable.  The UFESM rejects any such unethical  move unequivocally.    Also a call has gone out to ESM that: - 1. The HS will continue indefinitely. 2. More cities would join the HS every day. 3. ESM will boycott all official functions. 4.
