Dear Veterans

You are aware that Govt has accepted the principle of OROP but has introduced many anomalies in it which are not acceptable to ESM family. These anomalies are

1.  OROP will be given w.e.f 1 July 2014 instead of 1 Apr 2014. NOT ACCEPTABLE
2. Pension will be fixed based on average pension of calendar year of 2013. NOT ACCEPTABLE PENSION SHOULD BE FIXED AS ON 31 MARCH 2014. 
3. Review of pension will be done once in five years. NOT ACCEPTABLE REVIEW MUST BE DONE EVERY YEAR OR WHENEVER PENSION OF_  SENIOR RANK PENSIONERS PENSION WILL BE LESS THAN JUNIOR RANK PENSIONER. 
4. Anomalies if any will be referred to a single judge judicial commission.  NOT ACCEPTABLE AS COMMISSION MUST HAVE THREE MEMBERS FROM ESM, ONE MEMBER SERVING SOLDIER AND ONE MEMBER FROM GOVT. PRESIDENT COULD BE A JUDGE OR RETIRED JUDGE. OUR RECOMMENDATION WILL BE JUSTICE LODHA.
5. Commission is to give its report in six month. NOT ACCEPTABLE, COMMISSION MUST GIVE REPORT IN ONE MONTH AND REPORT TO BE IMPLEMENTED WITHOUT CHANGE IN 15 DAYS.  
6. All those ESM who have taken VRS will not be eligible for OROP. NOT ACCEPTABLE THERE IS NO WORD CALLED VRS IN ARMED FORCES. IN ARMED FORCES WE HAVE ONLY PMR. ALL ESM WHO OPT FOR PMR OPT FOR PMR ONLY AFTER SERVING MINI QUALIFYING SERVICE FOR PENSION. OROP SHOULD BE APPLICABLE TO ALL ESM WHO HAVE EARNED PENSION.  

In view of above anomalies UFESM had given a call that unless these anomalies are solved to our satisfaction. ESM will boycott all Government and Military functions and will fly black flags on top of their houses as mark of protest.

Recently ESM, invited by the President of India,  have sent their regret to attend felicitation function in President House.  

UFESM requests all veterans to please avoid attending all Govt and mil functions till Govt grants us OROP as per full definition and rectifies all anomalies introduced in it. 

Friends it is now or never, we have brought the fight of OROP so close for approval. Any slackness will again take us back for 40 yrs. Time has long gone for those ESM who maintain that they will get OROP if others will get it, Friends even if few of us decide to violate this blanket ban of boycott of function then we can forget about OROP and other welfare points.

Dear Harish, after checking with IESM, being an active member of the org, we the veterans are not attending any Gov't functions. I, therefore, regret that I will not be able to come to Hasi for this function. I am aware of the fact that I will miss this golden opportunity of meeting old friends together at one place.
